1. What is a Carbon Credit?

A carbon credit represents one metric ton of carbon dioxide (CO2) or its equivalent that has been removed from the atmosphere or avoided through conservation and sustainable practices. In the voluntary carbon market, credits are created through verified projects such as reforestation, soil regeneration, mangrove conservation, and grassland management. Earth Carbon ensures that each credit we develop is backed by science, verified by trusted registries, and contributes to real climate solutions.

2. Mexico’s Role in Climate Solutions

Mexico’s ecosystems — from cloud forests and tropical jungles to mangroves and vast grasslands — are among the most important carbon sinks on the planet. By conserving and restoring these ecosystems, Mexico contributes not only to national goals, but also to the global fight against climate change. Earth Carbon develops projects that highlight Mexico as a pioneer in the voluntary carbon markets, protecting biodiversity and supporting local communities.

3. Landowner & Community Training

Earth Carbon works with private landowners, farmers, and ranchers to help them understand how their land can generate carbon credits. Through workshops, guides, and on-the-ground collaboration, we explain the process step-by-step: from measuring soil and forest carbon, to project registration, and finally to selling credits on the voluntary market. This education empowers families and communities to be active participants in conservation.

4. Corporate Learning

For companies, understanding the value of carbon credits goes beyond reducing emissions. Earth Carbon provides resources that show how buying credits supports biodiversity, water security, community development, and Mexico’s conservation legacy. This knowledge helps companies integrate carbon credits into their ESG and Net Zero strategies with confidence.

5. Resources & Publications

Explore our library of resources, including infographics, videos, and downloadable reports created with our partners such as Rice University, BCarbon, and the Baker Institute. These materials are designed to make carbon markets accessible and transparent for everyone.
